Description
St Leonards Vineyard Cottages is in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand. The homestead is a classic New Zealand farm house built in the 1880s and was once the focal point of a large sheep farm complex. The homestead and self-catering boutique cottage accommodation now form a unique collection of traditional buildings that have retained their original charm and yet provide up-to-date facilities. The views are wonderful and the settings private. Jonathan and Natashya live in the Homestead and welcome guests to share their little bit of heaven.

The Woolshed

A spacious, characterful, two-bedroom cottage, perfect for a family, group booking or wedding party. The Woolshed is located where the sheep were shorn during the days of the working farm. It has been totally re-built in the original position and design. During the renovation, recycled materials were used to maintain the original character of the building. You can still see old tally numbers for the numbers of sheep shorn, on the inside of the front door. This classic Marlborough retreat features two separate bedrooms (one with queen sized bed, the other with two king singles), a shower room with toilet and wash basin, a second separate toilet and a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area, including a dishwasher. Keep cozy with heating by heat pump or log burning fire. The Woolshed accommodation features a large deck area with BBQ, allowing views to the north over the neighboring vineyard to the Richmond Ranges. The Woolshed also features a private outdoor bath, under a weeping willow for you to relax in.

The Stables is the renovated original stables for the working farm. This lovely retreat is perfect for a couple or honeymooners. The Stables is a self-contained cottage with queen sized bed, bathroom, small kitchen area and an ornate pot-belly stove. The Stables features a covered patio area with private barbeque facilities. The French doors to the back of the cottage, open onto a private garden area, with views of the St Leonards lemon grove. Past the grove, you can enjoy views of the neighboring vines and mountain ranges. Our friendly sheep & alpaca may pop their heads over the fence for some scratches. Stay warm and cosy with our energy efficient heat pump, perfect for the cooler Blenheim months.

The Cottage

A spacious New Zealand cob-style cottage, perfect for a couple or small family visiting beautiful Marlborough. The Cottage is located in a private part of the property, with lovely north-facing views of the vineyard and mountains. It has a separate bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed & French doors opening onto a private deck, overlooking the neighboring vines. The living and kitchen is open plan with polished wooden floors and high-pitched ceilings. The bathroom has a shower and a large claw foot bath. Outside, you can use your private barbeque facilities whilst watching the sun set behind the hills. A king single is available in the lounge area for extra guests.

The Shearers Quarters is an open plan cottage and is perfect for a couple or small family. The cottage has an exterior cladding of corrugated iron and is in the same style as our renovated Woolshed. The Shearers Quarters is self-contained with a combined kitchen living area, a Queen and King single bed, with an ensuite shower room. Immediately outside is a patio BBQ area, with a new arbour overhead. This private outdoor setting allows our guests to enjoy sunny Marlborough. Views are to the east over our pétanque court and the neighboring Wither Hills vineyard. Stay warm and cozy with our energy efficient heat pump, perfect for the cooler Blenheim months.
