HIGH COUNTRY FARM STYLE ACCOMMODATION AT EVERY LEVEL. A RESTORED WOOLSHED WITH OUTDOOR BATHS OR CHOOSE A RUSTIC HUT UP THE MOUNTAIN, MAGNIFICENT VIEWS, SUNSETS AND STARS! The Mud and Slate huts are rustic back country huts with outdoor baths. A fabulous experience if you are up for an adventure. We welcome mountain bikers and hikers along our trail. Back country huts have a long history in our country's culture. The Mud Hut, Slate Hut are located at different points along the trail and the Red Shed is located near the homestead.

Kit's Cabin

A self contained tiny home with bedroom, kitchen and lounge all one room plus a shower/toilet. Deck and outside baths under the stars. Sleeps 2 people. Gas hot water is available. Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape only 45 minutes South of Queenstown in Garston located between Queenstown & Milford/Te Anau. Kit's Cabin is perfect for a couple accomodation 2 people in a Queen Bed. Located on a working farm in a private location, you will feel remote but only be a few kms from civilisation. Completely off the grid with solar as the source. Elevated location with amazing views down the valley below. Two outdoor baths to soak in under the vast night sky.
The Mud Hut

We provide gas for cooking on the camp stove and firewood for the outdoor bath - you need to provide everything else needed for overnight trip into the back country. The hut has a set of extra long bunk beds - each bunk bed can sleep two people 'top to tail'. Basic crockery, cutlery and pots & pans are supplied. The Mud Hut sleeps 2-4 people. Walk or Bike to the Mud Hut from the Ski Hut approx 9kms.

The Red Shed

The Red Shed ~ Open All Year Round! Perfect for a couple, a family or a group. Accommodating up to 3 people between the Red Shed. If you wish to book for 4-5 people, please book the Red Shed and sleep-out package can be booked with the additional charge. Enjoy a deep slumberous sleep in our spacious studio with kitchenette, separate ensuite & outdoor baths. In the old farm woolshed.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled 15-30 days before arrival date 50% of the total booking amount will be refunded to the customer. If cancelled 14 days or less before arrival date 100% of the total booking amount will NOT be refunded. We are happy to move a booking to an alternative date rather than cancel a booking if the new date is available and 14 days notice is provided. Any changes must be sent to us as soon as possible. **PLEASE NOTE - If you are booking a gift voucher you are NOT booking or reserving a specific hut or date for a hut. You need to redeem the gift voucher through the operator to the book in your specific date** Covid Refund Policy: We are happy to change the date of your booking to a different date if your booking is affected by covid lockdowns. In order for visitors to understand the hazards associated with backcountry hiking biking 4WD or overnight options please read the terms and conditions below. You will be required to acknowledge our terms and conditions below if you wish to undertake our activities: 1.I am aware that the activity involves some physical exertion and the inherent dangers and risk including changeable weather conditions. 2.I declare and confirm that I am physically fit and have no condition or injury that could be affected by this activity. If you have any medical conditions that may compromise your ability to partake in any aspects of Welcome Rock you must inform us. 3.I will comply with all instructions of Welcome Rock and their staff 4.I am aware that if I am or if I appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs I will not be permitted to participate in the activity and I will not be entitled to a refund. 5.I understand that it may be necessary for Welcome Rock to cancel the activity at short notice.
