Description

We love the personal touch and offer our guests a very unique experience on Stewart Island. With the full facilities of the restaurant available to meet your every need we aim to be the discerning travelers best accommodation choice on the Island. Our lodge offers guests a stand-alone suite that looks out to Halfmoon Bay. Each unit has an en suite and super king size bed. The units are spacious and private while being a very short walk to the restaurant and gardens The suites have a deck on the front so guests can enjoy the long summer evenings relaxing with a wine or refreshment of their choice. About our Rooms Our rooms are all stand-alone and are merely metres from the restaurant, car park, and gardens. Church Hill is a 5 minute walk from the Oban township, ferry terminal and flight centre. Our rooms have views of the bay and beyond & face the sunrise for the perfect wakeup call. Surrounded by the native bush of the Church Hill site the birds are only an arms length away. Many visitors to the Island come for the bird life and from your room you will be able to get some great photographs without getting out of your pajamas or possibly, even out of bed. Our Foveaux room has a wood fired hot tub available for the use of guests staying in Foveaux. It is accessible directly from the balcony and sits among the bush with views to the bay. We provide towels and firewood and you can have a bottle of wine and a platter at the tub if you desire

Foveaux

The foveaux room is a fully disability accessible room. It looks out upon the Foveaux Strait, hence the name. Foveaux has a private hot tub which can be accessed from the balcony or the garden. The hot tube is wood fired and takes a around 1.5 hours to warm up, depending on the temperature you desire that is. We provide the towels and gowns so you only need bring your swimsuit, or go al natural which is up to you. The tub is from Stoked Stainless of Wanaka and is proudly kiwi made. It is very spacious and comfortable and easily fits 2 people. It is kept pure and is filled by filtered rainwater, the same as we drink, and has colloidal silver treatments which are great for skin and personal wellbeing. The tub will be set for each guest and cleaned without the use of any chemicals. You are welcome to have drinks and platters at the tub so is ideal for a romantic soak on a beautiful star lit night or a cold winter day, or maybe after a days hiking you want to soak in smoothing warmth. Tariff for the use of the Tub $100 for the first setup of your tub. This includes towels and firewood requirements $75 for any subsequent lighting of the fire. Any drinks and food requirements will be charged as per menu costs. We dont have any extra costs for providing our services to your room. We will set up the tub for your requirements. Guests are asked not to light the fire themselves for safety reasons.

Kamahi

Kamahi is named for its Kamahi tree frontage and location of the Church Hill site on Kamahi Road. This is Deannes favourite room with a lovely view of the titi islands and the bay.

Tokoeka

Room Configuration: 1 Bedroom
Max Guests: 2

Tokoeka is the moari name for the Stewart Island, or Rakiura, kiwi. It means weka with walking stick. Themed for the fauna of the Island and featuring art from local artists and photography from Deanne. Tokoeka looks into the bay and gives views of the local fishing and pleasure boats.

If you cancel your booking with more than one months notice you will receive a refund of all monies paid. No refund is provided for cancellations within one month of arrival. Owners discretion is applied. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
